What does “Credit” mean in a Canadian University/College?

Many applicants who are going to enroll to a foreign University or college, are interested what does a credit mean?

In this article, we will not talk about tuition credits (loans)...)), but about a credit as a system of credits required for each course. Usually, in Canada and the United States, each course is equal to three credits

A credit is like a weight (kg) of one course, if you failure a course, then you don’t receive 3 credits (kg), and the course will have to be taken again. If your two-year program requires 60 credits to obtain a diploma or certificate, that means you need to take 20 courses (60: 3) during your total study period, that is 2 years.
